What’s that? You’re DYING to know what’s on my Spring Jamz 2kX playlist?
Well OKAY THEN!
I don’t know how to like, give you these songs, but I’m pretty sure you either own them or like, can download them, probably for free if you’re crafty.
1. It’s a New Day, Will.i.am: This song was played in my spinning class the morning after health care reform was passed, and it made me cry from happiness.
2. I want you to, Weazer: This is another spin class gem. I have hand motions that go along with it, which makes for an awesome show on the treadmill.
3. The Underdog, Spoon: If you do not love this song you are not human.
4. I am trying to break your heart, JC Brooks and the Downtown Sound: I heard this Wilco cover while driving home from school the other night. It was on the local college station, 88.7, which is way too cool for me. But in Atlanta, 88.7 was nothing, so we broke into that frequency when we installed my ipod connector. Sometimes I turn off the ipod switch but forget to change stations, and end up listening to like 2 hours of weird progressive college kid shit. But this! THIS IS AWESOME, and the only way I ever want to hear this song again.
5. Here Comes your Man, Pixies: Thank you, JGL.
6. I Need a Dollar, Aloe Blacc: For a long time, I thought I liked the show How to Make it in America, but then I realized I really just liked the theme song. This is that song.
7. Girl on TV, LFO: The girl in question is Jennifer Love Hewitt.
8. The Sign, Ace of Base: no explanation needed.
9. Speechless, Lady Gaga: not happy, actually, but awesome and sing-along-able once you figure out what the hell she’s saying.
10. Toes, Zac Brown Band: aww, I’m just gonna kick it at the lake.
11. Just Like Heaven, The Cure: Brilliant.
12. Linger, The Cranberries: As Ricky always says, every mix should have The Cranberries on it.
13. Haven’t Met you yet, Bubbles: This song gives me hope. Less so since Bubbles is married and all, but still.
14. Baby, Bieber: Don’t laugh. Just listen. Your heart will be happy.
